Philosophy of Care:

We believe that older people have the right to live in their own homes as long as they wish to with whatever support is required, including day care.

We believe that older people have the right to equality of opportunity, the right to be recognised as individuals and the right of choice where practicable.

We believe that they have the right to live out their days with dignity and in comfort and as independently as possible within a safe environment.

Aims and Objectives:

Aims:

  • To provide the support needed to those who attend, and their carers, to enable them to remain living in their own home as long as possible.

  • To involve those who attend the centre in the planning and provision of services and activities wherever possible.
  • To be flexible and responsive to individual needs as well as the needs of the larger group.
  • To provide a wide and varied array of stimulating activities.

Objectives:

  • To supply appropriate support and information on available services and care locally.
  • To liaise with the appropriate outside agencies.
  • To seek out relevant ways to integrate clients, regardless of ability, into the wider community.
